How Pockit Job protects you

• Verified profiles. Anyone can verify their profile photo with a live selfie check — look for the green tick. Anyone posting a personal job must be photo verified, and you can choose to accept applications only from photo-verified people.
• Everything stays in the app. Applications, messages and video interviews all happen inside Pockit Job. Your phone number, email address and other contact details are never shared.
• Meet on video first. Built-in video interviews let you meet face to face before you ever meet in person — no phone numbers or external apps needed.
• Reviews you can check. After every completed job both sides review each other, so you can see a person's track record before you hire or apply.
• Report anything. Every job post, skill advert and message has a report button. Reported content is hidden while our team reviews it, and rule-breakers can be blocked.

Before you meet anyone

• Check their profile: is the photo verified? Do their reviews look genuine?
• Keep all your chat inside the app. Be wary of anyone who quickly pushes to text, WhatsApp or email — that's how scammers avoid being reported.
• Have a video chat first. If someone won't show their face before meeting, think twice.
• If the person you meet doesn't match their profile photo, walk away and report it to us.

If you're doing a job

• Tell a friend or family member where you're going and when you'll be back.
• Take your phone, and keep it charged.
• For a first job with someone new, consider bringing a friend or arranging to meet somewhere public first.
• Only work in someone's home if you're comfortable — and if anything feels wrong, leave. You never owe anyone an explanation for leaving.
• Trust your instincts. A real hirer won't mind you being careful.

If you're hiring

• Use the "photo verified applicants only" option when you post your job.
• Interview on video before inviting anyone to your home.
• Check the person who arrives matches their profile photo — if not, don't go ahead, and report it.
• Let someone in your household know when a worker is coming.

Money and scams

• Never send money, vouchers or bank details to someone you haven't met — no real worker or hirer needs a "deposit", "release fee" or gift cards.
• Agree the pay before the job starts (it's right there on the job post) and settle up when the work is done.
• Pockit Job will never ask for your password, banking details or a one-time code by message or email.
• If someone asks you to move the conversation, or the payment, off the app — that's a red flag. Report them.

Young people and parents

• Pockit Job helps young people find their first jobs — if that's your child, take an interest: know where the job is, who it's for and when they'll be home.
• To keep everyone safe, Pockit Job can't be used for jobs caring for children or vulnerable adults — every job post is checked against this policy.

If something goes wrong

• If you're ever in immediate danger, call 999.
• Report scams and fraud to Action Fraud, the UK's national fraud reporting centre.
• Report the person, job or message to us in the app — or contact us directly. We review every report.
